Nature walk bones

Yesterday’s nature walk was a great opportunity for bone hunting… Hans and Camille found some deer leg bones, a vertebra, and what looks to be a rib, and I stumbled upon a deer pelvis attached to a partially complete backbone!

Since Hans and Camille aren’t able to clean bones at their place, I offered to clean up everything we’d collected. I haven’t had many bone cleaning projects this year, so I’m really excited to work on these! Right now they’re macerating in a washing powder bath to remove the remaining soft tissue, so I’ll have another update in a few days.
